Museum Gallery Tour - Shipwreck!

Fridays 7, 14, 21, 28 November, 5 and 12 December 2025, 10.30 - 11.30am

Dive beneath the waters of Poole Bay and explore the incredible discoveries hidden below. Follow the work of divers, maritime archaeologists, conservators and museum experts as they uncover and preserve treasures from three extraordinary designated protected wrecks.

Travel through over 2000 years of Poole’s maritime history - from the 10 metre-long Poole Logboat dredged up from the silt of the harbour, to the recently discovered Mortar Wreck from which divers continue to unearth new secrets.

See the shoes once worn by Spanish sailors in the 1500s, imagine what Dutch crews dined on during their ocean crossings in the 1600s, and learn why the elite of Early Medieval England had to be buried under Purbeck Marble!

Please note your event ticket also guarantees general admission to the museum on the date of the event.
